No, I read it close enough.

I say there is still investment opportunity in IDN. Therefore, according to you, I am feeding people bullshit and taking people for fools, or in the real world, a liar. As does IDNblog, as does IDNnewsletter, and as do most of the people here. Now you didn't come right out and say it. But that is what you meant.

Re: Domaining.com really needs to get rid of their "Junk" blogs

Sure the sales on this forum are pretty low but the ones off the forums in the $xxx, xxx are high (especially for German IDN)...

It is still an investment.. Real $ flowing between people makes them valuable as well. Not bad for a 5-10 year investment paying $8/yr upkeep. What have others bought on DNFORUM that they are able to flip for as much.

Yeah, you know, domainers are a lazy bunch. They just look at their list of parking companies, try these domains on each one, and find none "convert" so quickly give up .... I have done that with some traffic in the past.

But that is the parking companies fault for not spending any of the last 10 years looking beyond their US ad-serve base. The traffic is fine. Its real people that buy real products and services.

btw, I have to pick you up on the "example" in your blog, about "lawyers" ... you know, that fact that people round the world don't spend all their spare "dolllars" suing each other through ambulance-chasing lawyers is in my opinion, a big + for the rest of the world. You need a "non-crazy example"

Lol. The only person that agreed with him was a person named Brian that owns "pizzacostume.com" regged just this year. There's ascii domainers lies, propaganda, and bullshit in action for you. Irony?!

Hey, Styker 2.0, why doesn't your buddy, Oracle Rick set off another buying spree where investors and noobs lose their ass like .mobi? Maybe get them to invest in some simcities on Weblo? Or buy those shit names you have posted on Latonas?

Oh, and SEO specialist Stryker? I don't see EmoMusic.net listed anywhere on Google for Emo Music in a search. Even estibot says it's shit. And everyone knows estibot overprices domains.

And we bullshit investors?

Re: Domaining.com really needs to get rid of their "Junk" blogs

You know what, I've given up a long time ago arguing with people like these.

I'm pleased they are happy to go on record (and it started with Ricks jaded views a few years ago) - because it will soon be the dollars that do the talking, and then we will see who the real bullshitters are.

But until that day, a message to all the guru's and self proclaimed experts out there: Roll-up roll-up, keep on posting your professional advice based on zero research. You've nothing to lose but credibility...

.. and I guarantee you your posts will come back to haunt you.

Well, there is none. There's an expert who wants to ecucate us about all those countries out there. He knows everything about Russia because he can see it from Alaska sometimes. And on Fox News they said that Obama belongs to the Taliban over in Azerbaijan ... or was it Iran? And watch out for those communists in Europe: once they get rid of Hitler they can become a proper country like Texas or something.

Re: Domaining.com really needs to get rid of their "Junk" blogs

Domain Stryker is not too much different than most of the domaining community regarding their thoughts on IDN’s, only he has done a good bit of homework and got some of it right and some of it wrong. IMO he does have some valid points. I think he started off well with Paragraph 1, and finished well with some good points in his last 2 paragraphs (that text I put below). But in between these paragraphs I would have to say that he is expressing his own opinions which he is welcome to, but not necessarily have dug deep enough for all of the information and facts, or maybe not taking into account what is coming from various (non English) agencies and inside sources.

Unlike most of his counterparts he is not saying DON'T invest in idn, he is merely saying to do your homework before you do. And while I do not believe he is up to speed about the current and upcoming opportunities to monetize IDNs in most major languages (nor are we all as this is an ongoing process but we all see the reports and strategic alliances being formed by google, yahoo and others)....nor may he be aware of the x,xxx, xxx amounts of money being made behind the scenes selling blocks of idns.

Where he is most correct is the fact that he is right....a lot of people will screw up on the opportunity at hand and his caution to the "sheep" within the ascii domaining crowd is a valid one. But those that do their homework and fully understand were the global internet is going in terms of technology, mobile computing, cloud computing and the future of global search will be duly rewarded with this 'once in a lifetime' opportunity to get in the ground floor of quality IDNs. Just my 2 cents.

QUOTE- Paragraph #1:
Once again there is a lot of buzz surrounding IDN domain names and ccTLD’s within the domaining community… So lets see, is there really any money to be made with these kinds of domains in 2010 and moving forward? Yes there is but first you have to understand a couple of very basic principles and avoid the hype. You gotta understand that when everybody is talking about something freely, that means that the opportunity has been mined …

QUOTE- Last 2 Paragraphs:
We all know that category killer keyword domains get type in traffic and really, ccTLD domains and IDN’s are no exception, they get lots of traffic as well, but where the hell do you monetize it… How?? So before you decide to invest in any of these domains, ask yourself this question and you better be able to answer it, otherwise you will end up paying thousands or tens of thousands of dollars for domains that produce a whole lot of nothing… Just headaches!

So don’t believe the hype. Do due diligence. Seek the truth… It’s up-to you to put together the pieces of the puzzle and make sure that everything is 110% clear and makes sense. See first hand that this international traffic converts and then you can begin to talk about it with friends, blog about it and maybe even invest more heavily, just as you do with the proven top three gTLD’s which are .com/net/org which everybody just loves and for a very good reason… END QUOTE

BTW...and I am sure you know, IDNs are .com, .net and .org.

This is going back a few years. But PizzaCostume.com dropped at some point and was picked up by.... Wait for it....

HugeDomains.com

Now for sale at $2295 in case anyone is interested. I'm surprised their business model works as they have a lot of junk names on the books
