Yes, the group is very active in raising awareness of IDNs and EAI. This includes producing documentation/guides and giving presentations at conferences. There is also their comprehensive website https://uasg.tech/

They have a mailing list which I am a member of and it is open to all to join https://mm.icann.org/mailman/listinfo/ua-discuss

I suspect the lack of e-mail functionality might be the biggest factor preventing developers from using IDN's. When this gets sorted out I think things will take off but it is going to be several years.
